I do not agree with you, I saw many people coming into the web developing world just because of its perks, achieving nothing in 2/3 years and going back to their previous field, do you have any example of people sticking with programming despite hating it?

Yes I understand, people don't need passion to do any job really, but I find that only the ones that have passion for their fields achieve a good career (just my opinion though)

I am saying that there is no passion required - passion is also not a predictor of a programmer‘s abilities; so, I‘d always aim for competence as a hiring manager or applicant, when sitting on the other side of the table.

Hating your job is a different subject, where I would agree.
